Throughout this whole matter Emiko's heart continued to race. Not to mention that she had the typical butterflies and all that jazz. Though honestly, that never bothered her, actually she really like this feeling. And it gave her an excuse to feel awake as well for now she definitely was. Every time she looked at him, which was from time to time seeing that she was not used to this whole love thing, she always managed to smile.
Though her smile slightly faded at the thought of how the prince would react. But then she remembered she had this long and well thought out plan she realized she forgot to tell Katsu. "Oh I wouldn't worry about the prince. Remember that I still plan on training you, so he shouldn't be too suspicious." However one can never be too careful of these things, so acting like you really meant it would come in handy as well.
"But when he does find out, he'll have to get through me first. I'd even give up everything, but I still like the job of protecting this land. So, if you don't mind, I'm going to keep this job for as long as I can. They will never find out." A small smirk now on her lips, she was sure that he trusted her, but she would like to hear that from him. Quite the spunky girl Katsu fell in love with eh?

Katsu had almost forgotten about the training idea. They had already discussed that earlier and he knew that would definitely get him some time to spend with her. He only hoped that the prince would not find out. Katsu doubted that he would want himself or Emiko to face the consequences. Emiko seemed like she had everything perfectly planned out though. She made it sound like getting caught couldn’t even be possible.
“That’s fine,” he answered after she explained that she wanted to keep this job. He wouldn’t want a job like hers, but that was because their personalities were a bit different. She seemed a bit more out going than him. “I hope you are right...” he mumbled looking away once again. “I don’t want you getting into any more trouble.”
He knew that if anyone did find out Emiko was sure to get some sort of punishment. So that was why they would have to lie low for a long while. A very long while if they ended up staying with each other. If Emiko wanted to continue to be keeper than neither of them could express any affection to each other in public for years. Which was ok with Katsu. He was a bit shy when it came to those things.

Emiko didn't mind if she got into trouble anyways. Recently she had been in a great deal of trouble, so what would happen now did not bother her either. However, if they found out she loved Katsu, and they wanted to kill her, all she could do was escape. Though she knew eventually they would just have to stop looking for her and find someone new right? That should not be a big problem at all. Still, she hoped that no one would find out soon.
Then she came to the realization of something else. Since they honestly did not know each other too well, why not talk about it now? So she walked on over to the railing on Katsu's balcony and sat up on it. Good thing she was light so it wouldn't break, and balanced so she wouldn't fall off. It just felt more comfortable to talk to Katsu rather than standing up.
"Well, since we don't know each other too well, I hope you don't mind a useless story about myself. About my family, I have never seen my father in my entire life. When I was young my mother didn't seem to mind much... but that thought was proven wrong as I got older. Then one day, she finally expressed her true feelings which led to the destruction of most of our home. I haven't seen her since then." Emiko paused for a moment, her expression had not changed in the least. Now she was used to the fact that her mother was a lunatic. "Still... I do hope to see my father some day."

Katsu moved over to the railing, but didn't sit on it. Instead he just leaned his back against it. He only nodded in reply before she started to tell him her story. Katsu would actually really like to hear a little more about her. Especially if she was willing to tell him more about herself. That only made it all the better and it also made him more interested in her. He was very curious of her family.
After she did finish though, it wasn't exactly what he expected to hear. But he wasn't really sure of what he expected either. For a few moments he simply stared at the ground as if he was waiting for her to continue with something else. He was merely thinking it over was all. Finally he looked back up at her.
"Maybe you will one day," he answered quietly. At least he hoped she could meet her father one day. He didn't know what it was like without a parent around. "I guess.. it's my turn then." He turned his head away thinking of what he should tell her. "I grew up in a very small village with both my mother and father. My father was a fisherman, so I would help him out a lot while my mother stayed at home. And I... that's pretty much it," he looked back up at her after he finished and bit down on the side of his tongue. That was pretty much it. Well, about his family at least. "There is nothing to interesting about me."

Emiko smiled and listened intently on what Katsu said. At least he got to live a normal life, but after he was about to say something else, he quickly finished his sentence. Maybe his life was not as normal as she had expected. Once thing was that most demon families do not fish, but some stay at home. Quite frankly, she did not like something hidden from her, but still they were just getting to know each other.
After he had finished talking she had realized her head had tilted downward to face the balcony floor. Well, being in deep thought can do that to you sometimes. Upon realizing that, she lifted her head and the small smile had quickly returned to her face. At least she was quite glad that he talked a little about himself too. Still the feeling that he was hiding something from her burned inside her.
"Well at least your life was quiet and simple..." At least she thought it was. She fidgeted on her railing to keep her balance while she continued to talk to Katsu. "But I have this feeling that there is something you're not telling me. If we want to get through this, I don't any hidden secrets. Please tell me." It was not a demand, but she highly recommended that he should answer.

For a moment Katsu welcomed the silence that had come over them. It gave him a few moments to sort through his own thoughts and what to say. But the silence did not last very long. In a matter of minutes, or maybe seconds, Emiko had finally decided to say something to him. After her first sentence he felt slightly relieve, but once her next sentence hit his sensitive ears he felt that his relief had come too soon. Apparently Emiko wasn't going to let him leave a little blank in his history. Which, personally, he would much rather keep. But he also felt it was only fair to tell her. If he truly did want to be with her then he would just spill what he had to say. And he knew that he did want to stay with her.
"Alright.. no secrets," he mumbled mostly to himself as he turned his head to look out at the village. His eyes stayed in that direction for now as he tried to think up the right words. It wasn't even that bad compared to most. "I guess I'll start where I left off then," he said with a shrug and a little grin that quickly faded. "I found my father after work one day and some of the other workers had.. well, you know, beat him. And he wasn't in the greatest condition. I thought he was going to die. But this girl showed up and healed him.. After that, everything was fine. My father was fine and I saw her more.. Soon I guess I started to..uh.. have feelings for her," Katsu gave a nervous shrug once again, "And after about a year or so the two of us had planned on getting married..." Katsu trailed off while he bit at his bottom lip. He felt awkward talking about his old love life around someone he now felt those feelings for. But she wanted to know. So he would tell her. "So the night before we were supposed to be wed she... um.. stabbed me. And that is how I am what I am today, I guess. A demon. It's hard to explain.. I don't even understand it."
Katsu shook his head lightly as a million question began to pop up in his head about that night. He doubted that he would ever understand what had gone on. Or what happened to him. The question that always bothered him was the question if he would always remain a demon. Katsu wanted to go back to his village to see his parents, but he couldn't. Not like this. They would surly not even recognize him like this. They probably thought he was dead..

Emiko continued to sit there, listening to his very long and emotional story, whether Katsu himself knew it or not. Though what concerned her the most was that he still had feelings for his first love, whom he thought was an angel. This though quickly let her smile fade. She herself never had a first love before, or was she ever to get married. Already she knew that all of that would go down the drain now that she was a keeper. Still, maybe she could hope of a way to get her out of this mess.
"I'm... very sorry Katsu." she said quietly, her eyes looking out into the village they had recently been to. Maybe it was best she hadn't asked after all. But it was either now or later to figure it out, so maybe now was better so she could face the pain inside. "But, I believe everything happens for a reason. I hope your parents are still alright, maybe one day you could take me to see them."
Also, she began to think of his love interest once more. If it wasn't for her, Katsu probably wouldn't be here right now. And because he was stabbed, Emiko now had the opportunity to train him and shoe him his potential powers. "I don't understand how you were stabbed either. But to think about it, if it weren't for her, you wouldn't be here right now." Hopefully, Katsu would be glad to be here, but then again she wasn't up for reading someone's mind at the moment. Very quickly, she got off the railing and walked over to Katsu, gently pressing her lips against his. "I'm glad you're here." And she didn't want him to leave either.

Quite honestly, Katsu was glad that had happened to him now. Before he wished it hadn't but it had brought out some good for him. Which was this. Meeting Emiko and finally filling that place in his heart again. Before he had met Emiko he had given up on anything like this and figured he did not have much of a point any more. But now he did have something he wanted to be around for. Even if it would be a bit more difficult for obvious reasons, such as her being a keeper. Katsu was willing to let her be one though, she didn't have much of a choice really, but he still did not mind much for now.
When he felt her lips press against his own, he felt a little burning sensation along his cheeks, but it quickly faded away. He wasn't one who liked to be seen as shy after all. He would have given her one back but decided not to just yet. First he had to figure out a way to answer her question. Katsu was afraid to go back to his parents like this. Sure they were very open minded and the greatest he could ask for. Of course, most children usually thought that of their parents. At least he did. He just did not want them to be ashamed of him. But maybe they would be glad to see him. Changed or not.
"Don't be sorry. I'm glad I'm here too," Katsu admitted letting his eyes drift down to the floor. For a moment he stayed quiet as he seemed to inspect the stone beneath him. "Yeah, I'm sure my parents would like to meet you."
Katsu then looked back up at her with a smile. It was rather forced, but at the same time it was a natural one. For some reason he still found it hard to smile about something in the past, but he managed to do it anyways. After all, his past was nothing terrible. He had a great life. So why not smile about it. Now his smile came naturally and there was no need to force on the grin.
